What Should I Expect?

Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, you may decide what amount of clothing you prefer to wear for your own comfort. You will be properly draped during the session.

Make yourself comfortable. The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people just close their eyes and completely relax. Others like to talk during their session. Feel free to ask the practitioner questions about massage and bodywork in general or about the particular technique you are receiving.

After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity, which can last for days. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during a massage, it is recommended you drink plenty of water afterward.

Massage and bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Massage and bodywork are also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety, and create an overall sense of well-being.

What are the Terms of Service?

Agreements:
I understand that the purpose of massage is to relieve muscular tension and stress, stimulate circulation and promote relaxation. If I feel pain or discomfort during the session, it is my responsibility to inform the practitioner.

I understand that the practitioner is not qualified to diagnose illness, disease or disorders. Also, the practitioner is not qualified to prescribe medications or perform adjustments to the spine or skeletal structure. Massage therapy is not a substitute for medical examinations or diagnoses. I must see a qualified physician for any such treatments.

I understand that certain medical conditions preclude massage treatments, and I have informed my practitioner of any health condition I have. All of my answers have been truthful and the practitioner will not be held liable if not informed prior to treatment.

Cancellations:
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for the session. Exceptions may be made for medical and personal emergencies. Payment for cancellations must be made in full before a new appointment will be scheduled.

Refusal of Service:
The Therapist reserves the right to refuse service in the following cases: if treatment requested is beyond therapist’s scope of practice; if the client is under the influence of alcohol or drugs; or if the client makes illicit or sexual comments during the session. In such cases, the session is considered rendered and full payment is due immediately.

Payment:
Due at time of service or prepaid.

Refunds:
No refunds for services rendered. If prepaid, rescheduling is optional to avoid loss of appointment if before scheduled time. All refunds given will have expenses and fees subtracted that were incurred while setting appointment, if any.

Signature:
All policies will have either a handwritten signature or a check box indicating understanding of the policies.
